Review: Blissy Box

During March about 1 week+ before Auntie 'M' visits, I subscribed to Blissy Box (6 month package). Till date, I have received 2 boxes and I think it is time for a review!

So what is Blissy Box?
Ripped from their website," to deliver just what a woman needs when she needs it and make "that time of month" blissful. Something to look forward too."

Ladies and char bo/s out there, you all know that every month, whenever Auntie 'M' visits, she bring along her children like acne, 1001 problems with the stomach like bloating, constipation, or diarrhea, body aches, mood swings and etc. In short, we created a group and named them 'PMS'.

Blissy Box is like a grabbag/box with item you need to prepare yourself for menses/period. It is supposed to make us feel better and won't dread it as much during Auntie 'M''s visit. You get your sanitary pads/tampons THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE BOX, snacks and maybe facial products like masks.

How I find them and what interests me?
Was searching online for any shops that sells sanitary pads because I am too lazy to go Chinatown to get them. I know I am very lazy la! But that's how I met Blissy Box. It was a love at first sight moment, Actually, I fall in love with the pouches(the gold and mint colour one ↓) they were giving out! I know it is very random, but sometime Auntie 'M' makes me buy a lot of things impulsively. Ladies, you know the feeling right.

So let's walk through the subscribing process together.

Step 1:

Intend to just get the 'Pads Only' plan, but I won't have the chance to get the pouches I like. Me die die also want the pouch. So for the pouches, I signed up for the 'Duchess Regular' plan. As a paying customer, I am worried that my box won't be the same as those sponsored bloggers or I might regret subscribing to the plan impulsively for the pouches.

Step 2:
I only use pads and liners from Kotex as they are the only few brand that doesn't make my down south suffer even more during the visit.

Step 3:
This is my actual date of my last period. and yes, I do monitor them using app in my phone :)

BOX 1 (For March)

YEAH!!!! This is my 1st box. The stickers are my own :)

The inside! Hello there,my gold pouch~

Burpppppp Top row shows all the snacks that they give. Hmmm.. To be honest, I saw some bloggers that received 'Lady Light' have more snacks than me. :( But it is okay, they give Nutella snacks!

Bottom row Really kind of Anna (the girl behind Blissy Box), I have highlighted to her that I have sensitive skin and she include a soothing mask for sensitive skin from innisfree. Two thumbs up for making an effort to understand and know their customer's condition and expectation.

BOX 2 (For April)

Lai liao lai liao! It is here.

This box comes with a handwritten note from Anna! So sweet la~

The inside and it comes with my favourite Pepero flavour!

Top the snacks and sanitary pads pouch.
Bottom Again, the most important stuff in the box.

Conclusion
It is too early for me to decide whether will I continue this box, as the price is slightly steep. But I am impressed by their customer service. The subscription (website) is super user-friendly. When they mailed out your box, they will send you a text and inform you. You can even change the brand and type of pads just via text messages. Anna will even take note of your personal request. This kind of customer service is really hard to find.

Will update my blog after I receive the 3rd and 4th box.

Now a short video to make us glad that menses are not a person ;)

Review: Slappy Cakes

While we were roaming around Clarke Quay, X this will be my bf's name on my blog :x chanced upon this article ↓

To celebrate SG50 or some called it Singapore's Jubilee Year, Sentosa are going to waive off all most of their entry fee! So if you are walking there like us, FREE entry for all those walking to Sentosa using the boardwalk!
I LOVE SG50!

For those taking the Sentosa Express, there is no indication that it will be free. Maybe walk the boardwalk and treat it as an exercise. Free entry motivates us~ Even though the article said the free entry will start today, but yesterday when we went there, it was already FREE entry! So we decided to hunt for food in RWS, Sentosa! We wanted to try Insadong Korea Town, but most of the thing that X wanted are sold out! Business too good liao~

We were attracted to the shop next to it, super striking orange signboard!

Slappy Cakes
Resorts World Sentosa
26 Sentosa Gateway (next to Universal Studios)
#01-29, Singapore 098269

From the name to the colours they used are really eye-catching and when we saw their menu, DIY PANCAKE really standout the most! Finally, we can play with our food without being judged by adults! Wait, aren't we adults too?

This will be the sight welcoming you after you ordered DIY Pancake! We will playing real-life Cooking MAMA!

Maple syrup and butter will be provided for free! But the butter need to be so stingy or not? 2 pieces only! Don't worry, those bubbles in the pan are one piece of mini butter!

X is doing his artwork! We wanted to be like those youtube video ↓'s that can draw a lot of cool stuff!

Really, it is close enough! We make outline super obvious! Who I am kidding?! It looks nothing like the youtube video's pancake!

Finally, a decent drawing emerged!

To be honest, the pancake taste a bit salty for me but, totally acceptable for X. He like love salty food! It could be the butter or the cheese from X's pancake.

DIY your own pancake is really fun! X like it thin and crispy like the grid thing he drawn below, while I like it fluffy like the smiley above. there are too many like in one sentence, even I get confused! Not only you can choose the flavours, you can also choose what to add in your own pancake! I love the idea!

When we accidentally threw all our mushrooms inside and start to draw random stuff in~

One thing we noticed in the shop, tables with kids are enjoying the process and laughing while those tables with adults in their 40s and above are "pancake must be round!", "are you sure bacon and cheese can be added into the pancake?!". As for the couples we saw there, most of the time girls are the one drawing and the guy flipping it. Guess X and I don't really bother because we are making our own masterpieces and eating them! HAHAHAH!

Signing off this post with a pancake drawing of my name..
.. and a totally unrelated photo of the sky taken while walking back to Vivo from Sentosa!

All photos taken with Samsung Note 4 and edited with Line Camera App.

Review: Slim Couture

我毕业了!
I have graduated!

Let me show off my result!

I know not very impressive if you compare with those people on Slim Couture's FB that lost more than 10kg in just 12 session. They spoil market hor! But my bad, I cheat on my diet during weekends. How can I resist those seductive chicken wings and tempting chocolate bar?! Joke aside~ To me, the result is quite impressive. The last time I was 50kg is when I am in Primary 5. So, imagine the look on my face when I finally reach my targeted weight. Some fairies in Slim Couture told me I can be lighter! Like 48 or 49kg?! That will be my Primary 3-4 weight leh!

This Chinese New Year was the best. The look on everyone's face is ..
All my relatives and friends really do the action above ↑.

Whenever my relative see me, they praise me in front of my mum and the smirk on her face! Actually, this is also the look on my face when people praise me la~

Here are some questions that you guys asked me via email, I will answer them here again.
* Questions will be in Underlined & Italic.
Geena Ginger will answer all your questions! Muahahaha!

Are you sponsored or bribed to write all this review?
 No!

How many sessions did you sign up and at which outlet?
Bought 13 sessions from someone else, then 3 more session from Slim Couture at Singapore Shopping Centre (Dhoby Ghaut).

After consultation, how long did you wait before you start your treatment?
I don't really remember, but should be about 1-2 months.

Those expensive lotion you mentioned in your previous post are they compulsory and roughly how much? Do they work?
I am not expert. But I did some experiment like one week I will apply the lotion and one week I won't to see the differences. Yes, it did increase by a bit as compared to the week that I didn't apply the lotion. But it could be due to my diet as well.

Maybe those weight you lose are just water retention?
Maybe. As long as my weight don't bounce back to 51kg, I don't care is it water retention or what. I am happy with my weight now :)

The crazy diet! How did you survive? Can you even eat outside? Can you even go out with friends?!
This diet... I don't know how I survive. Everyday I eat outside. Eg. Chicken Rice without rice and Mixed Veggie Rice without rice 1 Fish, 1 Steamed Egg, 1 Egg Tofu. I still go out with my friends every week! It is a must!! I will just order those dishes without rice. So, can you guess what is the first thing I did when I finish all my session? This picture pretty much sum it all up! ↓

I am glad that I went to Slim Couture. Thanks to all those bloggers that write review about it. And of course, those fairies from Slim Couture for performing those magic on me.

❤❤❤ Slim Couture's 女神们, 谢谢你们的用心良苦! 爱死你们了❤❤❤

Review: L'étoile Café

We decided to explore café/hangout places around Farrer Park. Farrer Park is NE08 of North East Line. We = Bf + Me Let me add a totally not related picture of us!

made using an app called FaceQ

Anyway, we are hanging out at
L'étoile Café
160 Owen Rd
Singapore 218953

This cafe is located at the not-so-crowded side of Owen Road. Saw some blogger took 15-25mins to locate the shop, so I have included a map at the bottom for you all to find the place easier.

How I feel when I first step into the café? Omg. To me, I feel like I am in some reunion dinner with alot of strangers. Why reunion dinner? The cafe is super packed. Most of them hang out in groups and talking about the past, now and future and I went there on chu san third day of the lunar new year. I personally like their menu because some part are handwritten.

The staff? He directed us by pointing to the back because the 1st floor was crowded when we went in. At first, we thought that he want us to sit outside as there is still empty tables. But then, he keep pointing us to back and little do we know, they have a 2nd floor! Obviously, we didn't do our research when we go there. Very nice of them to serve us plain water the moment we sat down! Thumbs up But sadly, they didn't help us refill when it is empty.

The food? Let the picture speaks for me!

Drinks: Hanami & Kiwi Soda
Erm.. Nothing impressive with the drinks. Just remember that if you are drinking any soda drink, STIR THEM THOROUGHLY!

Food: Chicken Ballotine
According to the menu,"Boneless chicken leg stuffed with shiitake mushroom roasted to tender perfection & covered with red wine gravy."
Everything was great, except for the mushroom. A little bit too hard. I like the fries.. alot!

Conclusion? A good place to hangout. Maybe in the future, I might even consider studying there for my exam. They have free wifi and if you are lucky, you can sit near those seats that have plugs!

Here is the map I promised!

For those taking public transport MRT,
After alighting at Farrer Park MRT, we would highly recommend you all to use either exit B or D those circle in green to go this cafe.

→ This will be the view welcoming you if you choose to walk via Exit D.

Review: New York Skin Solution.

Image Cr: SGAG

New York Skin Solution. London Weight Management & Yun Nam Hair Care's sister/brother. Just wondering the owner really like to travel around the world or this are the 1st few places he visited...

Anyway, I intend to start this post by saying that I am 'sponsored' to act like blogger since I get the free trial online. But who knows just as i expected when I went for my treatment, I still have to top up another $120(excluding 7% GST) due to the problem my skin are facing. Personally, I feel it is like London Weight Management but focusing on different part of the body.

Before they scan your face, they will ask you what is are the problems you are facing. For me, I am concerned about,
1) Pigmentation partying around my eye
2) Spider veins crawling on my cheek
3) Blackheads jumping out on my nose and chin

So they took extra picture of the problematic area that concerned you, and this is when they will either ask you to start your facial or top up/upgrade/pay money. Well, I paid $120 (excluding 7% GST) to make sure that I see result. To be honest, they manage to squeeze out most of my blackhead. lighten my spider veins and pigmentation. I am very very pleased with my facial. They are one of the place that really clean out most of my blackhead.

Then after the facial, they will scanned your face again to let you compare the 'Before' and 'After'. Everything seem good until they start to 'introduce' the package. I have highlighted to them that I am working and a part time student, but still their package price WOW me. So what is the package price?  $3888 (excluding 7% GST) for 30 times. At first, I am only interested in getting the 10/20 times (About $1944 without GST). But when I was making the deposit for my purchase, they increase the price and package saying that it is super worth it and etc. I am very soft-hearted and don't know how to reject. ><

Reason why I don't want to sign so many treatment is because even though they said the same consultant will do facial for me throughout the 30 session, can they guarantee that the consultant won't resign or serve other people? When I signed up for more session (4 more) at Shakura Pigmentation Beauty after my trial session, they also claim that the same consultant will do facial for me, but only first and last time is done by her. Also during trial session, I see huge different after my facial. The rest of the time, I feel like I am pouring my money into the drain. Will blog again if I ever go for my second/third facial to compare with the trial.

To all that is going for their trial session, please take note that all the price they quote you are before 7% GST and be prepared, they will try very hard to hardsell. If the consultant can't convince you, their head or other people will come and convince you until you sign something. Personal Experience!

Hair Removal Methods

Imagine that you are waving your hands frantically like Ariel ↑.
If you have no unsightly hair/armpit hair, GOOD for you!
And if you do have unsightly hair, this will be the look on
whoever you are waving to will be like this ↓.

.... Okay, at least this look will be on my face if I see them.

As a hairy person, it is my pleasure to share my experience with you all.

So what have I done to those unsightly hair before?
1) Shave
Target Area: Underarm, Leg, Upper Lips
I used to steal my dad's shaver and shave my armpits. I am sorry, dad! But I have no regret doing it! I have my puberty when I was only 10 years old, too young for me to grow up! Most of my friends were all still young(not having their period yet). There goes my smooth smooth body~ Damn, you puberty! Then when I go polytechnic I can afford my own shaver now, I start to care more about my leg hair and that's when I start shaving my leg hair. The smoothness only last me less than half a day la and I can feel my leg hair's spiky-ness!

2) Pluck
Target Area: Eyebrow, Underarm
Hello Tweezers! Again, I steal them from my mum. Guilty as charged! My eyebrow is unibrow like the image on the right. My thick and bushy unibrow! My classmates and I went to try Threading and I am sold! I love my neatly trimmed eyebrows >< will pluck regularly to maintain the shape! I found out that plucking last longer than shaving, thus I start to pluck my armpit hair. Pain but worth it!

3) Threading
Target Area: Eyebrow
I still remember my classmates and I went to Clementi to get our threading done for prom night. I love how nice my eyebrow look, but I also can't forget how red the area around my brows look! So if you need to look your best for any event or outing and you want to do threading, remember to do 1 day before the event/outing! Oh ya After all the plucking and threading, the hair grows out thicker and darker. :(

4) Waxing
Target Area: Brazilian, Full Legs, Underarm
Want to guess which part of my body did I first tried waxing on? Down south Brazilian waxing. How I tried it? I bought a deal with my friend and we just tried it out! Indeed, it last longer than shaving, but the pain is.. OMG! ... I still remember very clearly my friend was in the room next to mine and she was cursing/shouting at me for making her suffer. It is cheaper than IPL, but need quite a lot of maintaining. You have to go wax every 6 weeks, whereas IPL is every 2 months. Like shaving, it cause ingrown hair! Just bear in mind, waxing using very hot honey wax. I was burnt once by the wax while doing full leg waxing.

5) IPL Hair Removal
Target Area: Brazilian, Ass, Full Legs, Arms, Upper Lips, Underarm
Have tried IPL on .. nearly my full body! No pain, no ingrown hair! They claimed that IPL treatment can minimize pores and whiten your skin, but I didn't witness it happen on me. Still, I highly recommend IPL treatments. It is becoming more and more popular and cheaper, maybe I will write a post about the shops that I am going for IPL treatment.

What is your favourite method of hair removal?

Review: Slim Couture

Hmm... How should I start this post?

Well..

I am a happy customer of Slim Couture.

Wait, am I too straightforward? Anyway, all my post about Slim Couture are not sponsored or whatsoever. Have no regrets spending so much money on their treatment. Oh wait, there is only one regret. Why didn't I know about them earlier and wasted so much money on other slimming centre?!

Ever since I started working, my weight have been increasing. To be exact, from 53kg to 65kg! Damn all the snacks and pineapples tart Working in office is good, have fixed pay, fixed working hours and also, bigger hip/thigh/lower body! Imagine a bottom heavy person like me have even heavier bottom! Sigh All those slimming centre that promise result after 1 session have cheated my feeling so many time. First, they pour you a glass of water to drink so you will weight slightly heavier before you start the treatment. Then after the treatment, they will ask you to go pee or what and they weight you WAALA~ a slimmer you!

To me, Slim Couture must be some magical fairy wearing white! After completing 11 session with them, I am finally a few step nearer to my ideal weight of 50kg. I weight around 58~59kg when I just started. And now, I am at my lightest weight 51~52kg.

Am I happy with my result? Of course. I feel that I made a right choice going to them. Even though I stopped going to the session for about a month+ to prepare for my exam, my weight didn't bounce back. In fact, it even dropped! It could be because I am stressed or the fairy dust is still working its magic that I am not sure. Now, I stopped my treatment again for work commitment. My weight is still maintaining around the 51~52kg range. Going to Bangkok soon before I continue my last 5 session. Hope my weight won't shot up in this food paradise.

So how is the session like? Basically, they weight and measure you every session without fail. Photos will be taken at the start of your 1st session, so that you can look at those lumps on your body without lying to myself. Well, I always lie to myself when I am in the changing room in front of the full mirror. The dress is the one making me fat and ugly, not me of course! When I see the photos they took, I know my problem area. Lucky for us, Slim Couture offer full body slimming for beginners and maintenance session is the targeted area slimming. After all the weighting and measuring, that's the pain part. I have tried Guasha and Cupping at TCM before, but this is nothing like it. After doing so many sessions, the pain is still there. Expect yourself to flinch or scream. =S

What is my favourite part of the treatment? The measuring and weighting part! I am a number-conscious kind of person. Everyday I weight myself at least twice, I know this behaviour is unhealthy. Very unhealthy. Being called fat by others, make me very conscious about my weight. But I forget no one bother to ask about my weight, they judge me as soon as they lay their eyes on me. Also, the staffs/consultants/fairies are super friendly and always giving me extra tips to maintain my weight. When I fall sick, they even tell me which home remedy will cure it! Where to find such attentive people.

What don't I like? To be very very very honest, the staffs/consultants when I just started the treatment. They treated this slimming treatment like a test. As a part-time student, I am really stressed out by the way they comment on my weight and diet. It really feel like those marked presentation exam. They start to grill you to find out what you eat and why I didn't lose more weight. But after 3rd session, they are super friendly and offer so many good advices to me. I think they just want us to lose more weight, so that we can benefit more from the treatment la. Hmmm, the cupping marking. It is really dark and ugly at the start of the treatment, super contrasting against my fair skin! I keep asking myself why must I suffer so much both physically and mentally! But now, I am more used to the marking and it is lighter that before. Now I really enjoy my slimming progress! The staff are now fairies and guasha/cupping are fairy dust to me!

Any other things to look out for? Please be prepared to spend a lot of money on those lotion. Also, their diet plan is very strict. I didn't follow 100% (about ~90%) and look at the weight I shed!

Will I continue the treatment? I will, but not now. Study and work are occupying too much of my time. Maybe during June or December again during my school break.

There is a saying,"No Pain, No Gain". But for this case, it is
"No Pain, No Lose weight!".
