#ThrowbackThursday

Suddenly I remember this conversation when I was looking at the old-dated resume of mine on MRT today. Really like #throwbackthursday feel!

Well, some background story. This happened in 2009 when I was in Poly yr 2. I was very determined to find a job to save/shop more.

On my resume, I used to write travelling as one of my hobby and the other one is reading. I decided to strike it off after an interview with a well-known bookstore in Singapore (hint: Starts with 'K' and rhythms with Yoshinoya).

So, there are 3 interviewers interviewing me. Firstly, they make me type a lot of things which I screwed up because I panicked. And then face-to-face interview, this is the conversation with one of them. I will call her 'B'.

B: So your interest is travelling, what country have you been to?
Me: Malaysia and Bangkok
B: Huh. Just this two countries and you assume you like travelling?"

I don't remember what I replied. But at that point of time, I was really really hurt. When I wrote travelling as my hobby, I thought travelling is all about the experience and feeling and not really about the places you have been to. After the interview, I remember crying at Takashimaya carpark to X my boyfriend saying that if I have enough money to travel around the world, why do I need to work part-time. Right, B? If I have enough money to travel around the world, why I need to go work part-time and get interviewed by you all, right?

But I should look on the bright side. Lucky, they didn't ask me in detailed what kind of books do I like to read, when I answered them "Fantasy and Mystery".

"I like to read Enid Blyton's especially his Famous Five, Detective Kindaichi, Detective Conan and Harry Potter."
I bet this will be their reaction.

Review: 3M Nexcare Acne Patch

在一个风和日丽的早上..

ARGGHHHHH!! PIMPLES!

Just when I thought Auntie M will be nice to me because I have enough stress at work and school, she decided to give me pimples. Pimples, my No.2 arch enemy, No.1 will forever belongs to blackhead.

Well, she present me a chance to try out 3M Nexcare Acne Patch. My friend was is in love with it, she was going non-stop about how good it is. As quoted from her, "suck all the pimple pus out and you can totally can go out in it and people wouldn't notice it at all."

Does it really works like miracle or just some gimmick? According to my research, it is a round plaster-like stuff that contains Hydrocolloid dressing. Just stick it on your pimples/acne/zits and it will 'pop' the pimple without actual popping it! How cool is that?!

So this is the item inside. Just this with instruction manual. It cost about $7-8+. Personally, I feel that it is overpriced la. There is another brand that sell it cheaper but not sure does it work like the 3M ones. Will give it a try when I finish this pack  But for the miracle that you are going to experience, I am going to say it is money well spent. I hope.

Let's go thru it step by step.
* I know the photos are not very clear. Please bear with me.

Step 1:
Cleanse your face well especially the problem areas with acne. Gently pat the skin dry with a clean towel.
This is after bathing and cleansing with facial wash. But you can clearly see the pimples just under my nose and some partying just around my chin.

Step 2:
Remove 3M Nexcare™ Acne Patch from the box and peel open the plastic pouch. Select a suitable sized patch which is able to cover the acne and place it centred on the acne opening. Ensure the skin is dry when the acne patch is used. Gently press the edge of the patch with clean and dry fingers for better adhesion.
Step 2 check! Even though Step 5 claims that it is skin coloured and transparent. Just look at the photo above and you be the judge. In my personal opinion, I don't think you can go out with this stick on your face. It is screaming for attention. I will advise you to use it at night before you sleep and remove them when you wake up. It keeps your itchy fingers from peeling them. Well, you can use it in during the day if you don't mind people giving you the are-you-siao-lang (are-you-crazy) stare.

Step 3:
Once the colour changes from skin colour to white, it means that the oily secretion has been absorbed. The acne patch should be replaced with a new one.

YUCKS!
Hope none of you are eating when you are reading this post. It is so so gross. It does suck out the dirty stuff a.k.a pus in the pimple and oil around it, but it only works with pimples that have head. I have tried once when the pimple doesn't have head, the miracle doesn't happen. And please don't recycle even if the patches doesn't turn white for hygiene purposes.
It also flatten the pimples, how nice of it! Also, the pimples were not as red as the night before.

Step 4:
Keep unused patches in the plastic pouch and store in a cool, dry place.

Step 5:
If you need to wear makeup, use the acne patch first before applying makeup. 3M Nexcare™ Acne Patch is skin coloured and transparent. Sterility is guaranteed unless individual plastic pouch is opened or damaged.

Will I buy it again?
Why not? It is easy to use and won't cause any scarring even when I am 'popping' the pimple. But I will only buy it when there are promotion or discount. It is kind of pricey for just 1 sheet of miracle plaster-like stickers.
